It's true some places won't accept things without a specific soldiers name. What people can do to get involved is donate things to a local military base which currently has soldiers deployed. When my husband was active overseas I used to send things directly to him for several soldiers in his unit, however, his base was also collecting and sending things to them. It's good for those who don't know a soldier or may not have the extra money to get it mailed out. Things they need are lotion, deoderant, toiletries, snacks etc...things that we use on a daily basis which is easy for us to get and not easy for them to find overseas. Something I added to the holiday/care packages were things were games, toys, plush animals etc...People may understand it's difficult emotionally but don't realize that sending little things such as game books and other things can change their mood for the better and keeps them going mentally and emotionally.

I wanted to share a wonderful story about an angel. My family is going to Disney World next week. We've planned our trip for a couple of months. The trip is paid for and we did the meal plan too. Trying to make sure that we stuck to budget I got $400 cash in an effort to keep up with our extra spending and not use a credit card and realize that we over spent. Well, my husband runs and he ran a 5K this morning. I went to the race with my boys and when we parked I pulled out $20 and then put my purse in the back floor board of my moms car. After the race I went her car and grabbed my purse not realizing that my bank envelope with our cash in it had fallen out. I realized it after we got back home. We searched everywhere and my moms car and our car. We even returned to the race site but everyone was gone. My husband then called the trak club and left a message telling what we had lost. We prayed that we would find our money and decided to go ahead with our plans of taking our boys to a park, while we were there we got a call from the trak club. A wonderful woman had found our money and called and left her number in case anyone called for it. I wanted to share this story because Jesus care for us and takes care of us even when we do things that don't make since. And what an angel this lady was.
