Precious Moments is sad to announce that we will will be closing down Precious Moms on October 30th. Precious Moms was a wonderful outlet for news and information of dedicated moms and the decision to close the site was not an easy one. If there is any information or content you wish to save, please copy and save the information to your computer by October 30th. We appreciate your past support and input on the site.

Here are some great ways to spend time with “just the girls:”

• Keep a stash of baking supplies on hand and ready to go so you can make the most of a rainy day by whipping up a variety of items.  Once your creations have cooled, take a walk in the rain to deliver them to friends.  You’ll spend a wonderful day working together making a delicious treat, and do something kind for someone else at the same time!
• Make homemade cards or pictures for kids at the local hospital, or a home for the elderly. Or write a letter to a far away relative
• Visit the local library and check out some new books to read aloud together
• Get out those photos and work on your albums together
• Create a family "newsletter" of recent events or happenings.   This would be great to add to your holiday cards!
• Write a story together.  Try writing about Katie and her friends, or about your own Precious Girls Club!
• Pick berries or apples or visit a farmer’s market
• Plant flowers or an indoor seed garden. Or force bulbs in the winter.
• Go on a picnic together. Or just go out to lunch!
• Get the binoculars and a magnifying glass and start a nature journal with observations from your own backyard
• Take a walk together and identify plants or birds.
• Take a class together.  Check with your local college, YMCA or community center for a class in something like music, cooking, scrapbooking or even dancing.
• Start a Mother-Daughter Journal.  Take turns writing about your day and then read to get the other’s perspective.
• Find community service projects that you can do together.  You might help sort baby clothes at a shelter, work in a soup kitchen, or help in a church cleanup project.
• Create jewelry together.  Or just visit a bead store and dream about all the great jewelry you could  make!
• Organize your daughter’s room together
• Make homemade gifts together – could be holiday baking, or knitting or some other craft project.  Plan ahead so you’re ready for the holidays!
• Make puppets and put on a show for the rest of the family
• Make salt dough and create!  There are tons of projects to try, from ornaments for a Christmas tree to mobiles, pins and magnets, the options are almost endless.
• Work on a jigsaw puzzle together
