To save time: Make this while the berries and cherries are still frozen. The frozen fruit will thaw within 15 to 20 minutes for a cool and refreshing dessert beautiful for any rehearsal dinner edible centerpiece.
1 (16 ounce) bag dark, sweet, pitted, frozen cherries
1 (16 ounce) bag frozen whole strawberries
1 plus 1/4 cup Splenda Granular
1 (12 ounce) angel food cake, torn into bite-size pieces
6 kiwi, peeled and sliced (2 cups)
1 (8 ounce) container fat-free dessert whipped topping
1 (8 ounce) package fat-free cream cheese
In a medium bowl, toss the cherries and strawberries with 1/4-cup Splenda.
In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat together the remaining 1 cup Splenda, cream cheese, and whipped dessert topping until smooth and creamy. This takes about a minute or two. With a spatula, stir the angel food pieces into the cream mixture.
Spoon half the angel food cake mixture into the trifle bowl. Spoon half the berry mixture over the cake. Arrange all of the kiwi on top of the berries, making sure you can see the pretty green layer of kiwi through the glass trifle bowl. Spread the remaining angel food cake mixture on top of the kiwi.
Top with the remaining berries.
If not serving within a half hour, cover and keep refrigerated.
