
Precious Moments is sad to announce that we will will be closing down Precious Moms on October 30th. Precious Moms was a wonderful outlet for news and information of dedicated moms and the decision to close the site was not an easy one. If there is any information or content you wish to save, please copy and save the information to your computer by October 30th. We appreciate your past support and input on the site.
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
¾ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. baking soda
½ cup shortening or margarine
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp grated orange peel
1 cup mashed banana (2 or 3 bananas)
2 tablespoons milk
½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together first four ingredients, set aside. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and peel to creamed mixture. Combine banana and milk into creamed mixture. Add first third of flour to creamed mixture and mix well. Continue adding remainder of flour, and then beat until smooth. Stir in nuts. Pour into greased 9”x5”x3” loaf pan. Bake for 45 – 50 minutes. Makes one loaf.
